Are you here because you absolutely love animals and watercolors? Then you’ll be happy to learn that through the sale of our animal watercolors, Ces Ptits Pigments will now help support the efforts of the Animal Tracks Inc unbelievable team ❤️
Since we all love animals so much, you’ll be excited to read that from now on, I pledge to donate the equivalent of 5% of my annual print sales to Animal Tracks! When you buy an animal watercolor wall art, watercolor greeting card, watercolor tote bag or pillow case from Ces Ptits Pigments, you will now support the sanctuary at the same time !
I’ve been selling my animal watercolor art as well as my animal watercolor prints for the past two years and what is the most exciting to me is to see my bold and vibrant animal watercolors travel to so many different places… and spread colors and joy to animal lovers all along their way!
By now you must know how much I love animals : it's my favorite inspiration for my watercolor paintings and they absolutely fascinate me. I also have an indescribable passion for monkeys, that is no longer a secret.
A dream that I had always cherished came true in the winter of 2018, when I visited the animals and the incredible care takers of Animal Tracks Inc sanctuary in Agua Dulce, north of Los Angeles, in California. I played with the monkeys, barely holding back my little happy tears. I also met with many other happy and well-cared animals. I gave kisses to Dobby the fennec fox, I pet a kangaroo and rubbed the belly of a wolf hybrid.
This is what paradise must look like : Happy animals and passionate, caring people.
When I came back from Animal Tracks, I could not help but paint Dobby the fennec, he just stole everyone’s heart, that’s what he does! Thanks to internet’s magic, Animal Tracks learned about my paintings via Instagram. The next animal watercolor portrait I did is that of their baboon Chrissy. I shipped it to her for Christmas, as a surprise. It was important to me that Chrissy's portrait shows her resilience and wisdom.
Animals sheltered at Animal Tracks Inc can’t return to nature. They are lucky enough to have crossed the path of these awesome people who strive to give them a nice remnant of life in captivity. Through their mission, they also make sure to educate people when it comes to having wild animals as pets : some of their capuchin monkeys were brought to them because they "poop painted" the walls of their owner's house! Monkeys are very artistic little creatures! :)
These wild animals are not meant to be adopted like you would do with a cat. When people realize it, it is often too late to return them to their natural habitat. A sanctuary like Animal Tracks allows them to spend the rest of their life with all the care and appropriate food they need to thrive. It is a cause that requires endless dedication and has always been important to me.
In the winter of 2019, Animal Tracks was mourning their wolf hybrid Scout who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, as they like to say. They tried by every means to save him, but his condition was too advanced. They made sure to provide him with all the comfort possible until the end.
I was then contacted by Megan from the sanctuary to paint a portrait of Scout that would be used to print on commemorative t-shirts. My animal-loving heart was mourning with them, despite the distance. So I gladly participated in the fundraising campaign in his honor to help pay for the vet bill.
What surprises me still is that before they even contacted me, I already had in mind to send them the portrait of their beloved wolf ;)
We were already connected.
With all these ties that are naturally woven with the people at Animal Tracks Inc, it became clear to me that a collaboration should be put together. I want to do everything in my power to help the sanctuary achieve their mission to give the best care to their animals.
If I did not live so far, I would spend all my time helping them on location, but since close to 5000 km separate us, giving a portion of the sales of my animal watercolors seemed like a good start!
I hope this new collaboration will be the beginning of a beautiful story. I also deeply hope that I will be able to return to see them soon and paint with Chrissy, their baboon and Queen of Animal Tracks !
Recently, Alyson and Stacy sent me a gorgeous artwork painted by Chrissy. Considering my love for monkeys, this is one of the most beautiful gifts that life has given me. You can watch a video I did to thank them. It was shared on Ces Ptits Pigments Facebook page, which is mostly in french, so my best English is just before the 2 minute mark. It doesn’t get better when I am that emotional, but I had to thank them with all my heart.
