I got to meet Jules’ mother Maggie at the very first Christmas art fair I did in Sherbrooke. She’s the most friendly, cute and devoted fan an artist can ask for ! Since we met, she shows up in most of the craft shows that i do all over Quebec Province! I She’s sweet !
Maggie has a life companion she loves, the handsome Jules.
True to Maggie’s passion for Quebec crafters, he too has a proud Québécois creation on his neck. When I saw his picture, I immediately fell in love with this beautiful kitty. At the venerable age of 15, age catches up with him and it's with a lot of emotions that I'm talking about Jules. Because shortly after Maggie asked me to immortalize her beautiful friend, she had bad news about the health of his darling cat.
When I paint the portrait of your precious pets, I often ask some questions to get to know them better. I wan’t to grasp their essence as it is important for me to portray them as accurate as possible. When the watercolor painting is finish, I give it to you, but those stories stay with me.
I often think back of Jules and Maggie.
I know it’s kinda sad, but Maggie and I both agree that it was meant to be. We’re glad that she had its portrait painted while he was still a little energic ball of love for her.
