Ces Ptits Pigments are the bursting watercolor paintings created by Isabelle Matte in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. It's important for me to tell you about the artist behind the watercolor paintings, because it's no coincidence that my art is so colorful.
I am a creative person, I laugh really loud and I can’t help it. Always a new project in mind. If you wanna get to know me, i love : Dave Grohl, music, a good laugh, photography, tennis, travels, science, Star Wars, my car (haha !), new projects, learning something new, nature, animals, my family and my friends, my pools of coffee, milk chocolate and wine, the beautiful summer days and the milestones i get to look back at.
I am an extremely grateful person.
I am lucky to have an extraordinary and quite funny lover who makes my life even more beautiful. We do not have children, but we do have a big old crazy dog... And I have the coolest goddaughter that I absolutely adore and that I bring along in my adventures :)
Art has always been part of my life. For a few years now I try to maintain my passion for photography and music as alive and well as possible. By the way, I often use the excuse of music concerts to travel and go see my favorite bands in new countries :D
I kinda have a double life as I am also a research scientist. So my weeks are split between my job at the research lab and the exciting projects I get to work on with this creative business. Speaking of creativity, you might have notice my love for animals and nature, as it shows in my choice of subjects.
Watercolors have been part of my life for some times now, I would say it is one of the most beautiful discoveries I’ve ever made.
Being a self-taught person in many aspects of my life, I can definitely say that I started watercolor by accident. Out of curiosity. Painting in watercolor is a unique way to disconnect. Once, after several hours of creation, I realized the universe I had within my reach. Of course, you will tell me that watercolor is complicated, difficult, intimidating ... What I will tell you that it is enough to let go. The small pigments sometimes have their own will! It's fun to be surprised in life, right? :)
My creations stand out by their crazy and bold style, which I think makes my subject alive. It is this unique touch that leads people to call on me for commission and paintings that will stand out… and make people talk :)
Whether it is for a custom pet portrait, a visual for your new website or a special request of any kind, your projects fascinate me. In this regard, do not hesitate if you have questions or if you have a project that you would like to talk about, you may be surprised by my enthusiasm: D
